Wyatt Winter, Executive Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, revealed the reworked opening sequence, setting the stage for an epic space mission. "The new scene behind me is where it all begins," Winter explained. "Our alien buddies open the airlock, and we're off to face Emperor Zurg. But wait, there's a twist! Buzz Lightyear joins us, ensuring we're not alone in this battle."
Meet Buddy, the New Support Robot
Created by the talented teams at Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar, Buddy is a charming addition. He prepares Space Rangers with system checks and motivational words, ensuring they're ready for the mission ahead. It's a subtle yet powerful way to engage riders and build anticipation.

Animating in a Tunnel: Pixar's Technical Triumph
Tasha from Pixar explained the unique animation challenge posed by the tunnel environment. "Animating for a tunnel is uncharted territory. We created a flattened grid for animation, then projected it onto the tunnel, making it look seamless. It's like bringing the characters to life in a whole new dimension."
